Scope of Work

ArtFest Midwest is seeking a qualified consultant or agency to manage marketing promotion of the event. Previous marketing efforts have invested in traditional media ad buys in Des Moines. We seek creative approaches to marketing and promotion opportunities, including those specifically available to nonprofits. Our goal is greater awareness of and attendance to ArtFest Midwest as a featured event held during Des Moines Art Week.

An effective marketing strategy focuses on expanding demographics reached to be inclusive of more community members, including people of color, people with disabilities, and rural and suburban areas outside of the Des Moines metropolitan area. Channels more likely to reach ages 25-50 should also be prioritized. ArtFest Midwest is excited to invite art enthusiasts from more areas and backgrounds to join the public event.

Marketing activities managed by SPPG include ArtFest Midwest website; email communication to artist and public contacts; press releases and earned media placements; and overall brand/design work. Marketing proposals should focus on traditional and digital ads placements, additional targeted marketing initiatives, and greatest opportunities to increase reach and impact.

The budget is $20,000. Recommendations above allowance require justification. In addition to the budget, marketing and outreach services are provided in the form of in-kind sponsorships. Proposals can include opportunities for partnerships; see partnership benefits here.
